An Adele super fan felt like he was being a "therapist" for the popstar when they FaceTimed after her shows were axed.

The pop star was in tears as she made a difficult decision to postpone her Las Vegas residency shows, admitting that she had tried "absolutely everything" to make it all happen but it couldn't go ahead.

Some fans were left furious after spending thousands of pounds on tickets, flights and accommodation, but despite the cancellations, fan Dominic Crisonino decided to travel from New York to Vegas anyway.

He was spotted by a member of Adele's team at the venue and they instantly called the singer to chat with him.

However, Dominic has revealed he was the one that ended up consoling the Someone Like You singer over the cancellations.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning, he said: "I think everyone's initial reaction with this type of situation would be to focus on the negative - but I always try to seek the positive in everything in life.

"I could only imagine how she as an artist is feeling. This is her name attached to everything. So just I was kind of consoling her and kind of saying, hey we still support you, we still love you, we still support you."

Of his conversation with the pop star, he added: "I tried to focus on the positives and the good that was coming out of all of the bad - anything that might have come across a negative situation."

Adele announced she had decided to postpone the shows in a tearful video on Instagram last week.

"Listen, I'm so sorry but my show ain't ready," she sobbed in the clip, "We've tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.

"Half my team, half my crew are hit by Covid, they still are and it's been impossible to finish the show and I can't give you what I have right now and I'm gutted."

"I'm sorry it's so last minute, we've been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we've run out of time and I'm so upset and I'm really embarrassed," she added.
