If you watched the trailer for season 2 of Euphoria right when it dropped in late December, you might have been anticipating a particular scene with Cassie Howard, Sydney Sweeney’s character, and Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie, that takes place in the East Highland High School bathrooms. Well, it’s finally here.

Warning: spoilers for the second season of “Euphoria” below.

To avoid new spoilers, we won’t get into much detail about the third episode. If you’ve watched the two previous ones, you’d know Cassie is going through some internal conflict this season after hooking up (and falling for) her BFF Maddy’s ex-boyfriend (and the internet’s least favorite character) Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. Well, during this particular scene in episode three, she lets it all out, and the result is perhaps one of the most hilarious scenes in Euphoria history so far.

The scene — which, long story short, is only an imaginative fantasy — kicks off when Cassie, donning a coquette outfit complete with a tie-front cropped gingham overshirt and a ‘60s-reminiscent hairdo, enters the bathroom to touch up her makeup and is greeted by the series’ narrator and protagonist Rue Bennett (Zendaya). After taking a quick glance at Cassie and her sister Lexi (Maude Apatow), Rue asks her if she’s going to audition for Oklahoma!. “Oh my God, do I look like I’m in Oklahoma!?” Cassie asks in shock. “You thought I was auditioning for Oklahoma!? Are you making fun of me or did you actually think I was auditioning for Oklahoma!?”

After a small breakdown, which we’ll soon learn is only just the beginning, Maddy and Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira) enter the room and, of course, chaos ensues. “If you are not auditioning for Oklahoma!, then why do you look like that?” Kat asks after a quick fill-in. “Like what?” Cassie says. “Like a country music star,” Maddy responds, which prompts the classic “in a good way or a bad way?” from Cassie and the long-awaited “b*tch, you better be joking" from Maddy.

Shortly after the episode premiered, the scene quickly gained traction on Twitter after fans started sharing the snippet, praising the actors for their performance and even manifesting future awards. “This scene is so fun. emmys to all the euphoria girlies,” a user commented when resharing the clip. “The amount of chaotic energy in this clip [is] *chef kiss*,” another user commented retweeting the scene.

In fact, the scene is gaining so much attention online that HBO Max might actually see a bump in subscriptions, because it sure looks like it is attracting new viewers. “This is kinda camp. Ok yall won ill start to watch this show,” someone commented after seeing the clip. “I actually might just watch this show bc this was hilarious,” some else shared. “I haven’t had any desire to watch this show until this clip. BRB binging,” a third person added.

Though most people’s reaction to the clip was fairly straightforward, others took the chance to comment more deeply on the nature of the scene and why it spoke to them as viewers. “What I'm enjoying about this show, and scenes like this one in particular, is how the melodrama is contextually framed in a way that makes it feel natural. The show stays its course really well, and that helps keep anything from feeling out of place,” someone noted. “No cause i think this is one of the most realistic portrayals of what teenage girls actually sound like when they're just talking random shit i've ever seen in a tv show,” another one shared.

Be it because they find it hilarious or because they find it relatable, the consensus is crystal clear: the scene was the best part of the episode by far — and we are not going to lie, we love seeing Sydney doing a bathroom scene where she’s not actually terrified for her life.
