Rob Lowe has shared unusual details about the close friendship his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, has with Gwyneth Paltrow – and how his wife taught the younger star how to perform a sex act on men.
The 57-year-old actor has been married to 60-year-old make-up artist Sheryl since 1991 and together they share two sons; 29-year-old Matthew and 27-year-old John.
Gwyneth, 49 – who is currently married to 50-year-old screenwriter Brad Falchuk and shares 17-year-old daughter Apple and 15-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin, 44 – has been friends with Sheryl since she was herself a teen.
Gwynnie previously revealed on the Literally! with Rob Lowe podcast back in 2020 that Sheryl had taught her how to administer oral sex on men when she was young.
Now during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rob has shared more light on how his wife and the Oscar winning star grew so close.
He explained: "Here's the thing, the good news is my wife doesn't watch anything I do so she won't be watching this, so I can say it.
"When Gwyneth was a little, precocious 18 year old, my wife was still a makeup artist on a movie that Gwyneth's mother Blythe Danner was working on.
"Gwyneth came to visit and Sheryl would give her cigarettes and they'd go out and smoke behind the trailers. She was like a big sister to Gwyneth, still is.
"Gwyneth told me on the podcast that my wife taught Gwyneth how to - how should we say this on network television?"
Rob was then advised by 54-year-old show host Jimmy to use the term “perform oral sex” – allowing Rob to continue with his story.
Rob then joked: "Or, as I like to say, Chris Martin and Brad Falchuk, you're welcome!"
During her time on Rob’s podcast, Gwyneth explained her close bond with Sheryl.
She said: "I met Sheryl when I was 15 or 16, and I was, like, immediately obsessed with her.
"She knew that I was sneaking cigarettes, and she would come smoke with me behind the trailer. And she taught me how to give a blow job, and you know, all the classic Sheryl stuff.
"And I just worshipped her. I thought she was literally the coolest chick of all time. And she was so awesome to me!"
While Gwyneth did spare listeners the graphic details from Sheryl’s sex act lesson, she did speak enthusiastically about being taught how to get to grips with the explicit activity.
She gushed: “It was less about remembering the technique — although I’m sure that I implemented it the first chance I got.”
Gwyneth was married to Coldplay star Chris from 2003 until 2016, and tied-the-knot with Brad Falchuk in 2018.
The actress was previously engaged to Brad Pitt in 1994 but they split in 1997 – and she has also been linked to Ben Affleck in the past.
