Justin Verlander made it clear Sunday who the true fashion maven is in his household.
Taking to Instagram, the 38-year-old pitcher posted a cozy couple’s photo with wife Kate Upton. In the shot, Verlander is seen wearing brown slacks with a long-sleeved shirt that featured hints of pink nearly identical to the color of the 29-year-old model’s dress.
“We may or may not have coordinated these matching outfits… And by we, I mean Kate,” Verlander quipped in the caption.
Fans of the pair immediately flocked to the comments section, where they sounded off about the coordinating looks.
“Looking 🔥 If you’d worn pink shoes, it would’ve been perfect,” one Instagram user wrote while another responded, “Power couple! Nice shoes JV! Those Cole Haans?”
Others turned their attention to Verlander’s future, which became a topic of conversation in late 2021. Although originally reported in November that Verlander would return to the Astros, his two-year deal with Houston was made official in December, according to MLB.com, amid the lockout.
Verlander, a two-time American League Cy Young Award winner, was traded to the Astros from the Tigers in 2017, the same year Houston would go on to win the World Series. Days after winning the championship, Verlander married Upton in Italy.
The couple is now parents to 3-year-old daughter Genevieve, whom they recently took to Europe. Verlander and Upton also showed their little girl the spot where they became husband and wife.
“So much has changed these last 4 years!” Upton exclaimed on Instagram last month. “It was so amazing to visit the exact spot we said ‘I do’ with Vivi.”
