$1.5M reserved in funding for families impacted by November flooding in North Sound

LACEY, Wash. — The state of Washington and FEMA have worked together to award over $1.5 million in federal grants to families impacted by the disastrous floods that swept through the North Sound in November.

Residents in Clallam, Skagit and Whatcom counties, including members of local indigenous tribes, can apply for help with temporary housing expenses, home repairs or other disaster-related needs that are not covered by their insurance.

County residents and tribal members in the designated countries can submit an application to receive funding at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Hearing- and speech-impaired citizens can call 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for assistance.

The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is March 7.
