Halloween is just around the corner and Halloweentown stars Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz, who played Marnie and Kal in the Disney franchise, are throwing it back 20 years to celebrate.

On October 20, Kimberly posted the ultimate TikTok throwback to ring in the spooky season. The duo partook in the viral TikTok challenge set to Simple Plan’s “I'm Just a Kid,” which finds users recreating momentous photos from their past. The TikTok starts with Kimberly up close to the camera, putting on her earrings. She then takes a few steps back and is joined by Daniel to recreate a promotional picture from Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge. (Cropping Luke out of the frame — sorry, Phillip Van Dyke!)

If you’ve been out of the Halloweentown loop for a while, this might look like another reunion — but it is not quite. A quick social media scan will show you Kimberly and Daniel are all over each other’s profiles — and have been for a while. That’s because, back in 2018, the pair actually confirmed they had begun dating in real life. In July 2018, the two posted a picture sharing a smooch for International Kissing Day.

“We’ve kept in touch over the years since we wrapped the second movie, and we’ve been friends on social media for a while. We hadn’t seen each other in a bit, and I wanted him to be in some of my original comedy sessions that I shoot for my YouTube channel,” Kimberly told Bustle that same year. “It just naturally and very unexpectedly grew from that.”

It looks like the TikTok throwback is not the only Halloween surprise the couple has up their sleeves. “We’re about to try on this year’s Halloween costumes for the first time…..any guesses as to what we are dressing as? It’s a couples costume from some popular movies and a show….we’ll show you guys later this week!” Kimberly posted just after the TikTok went live. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
