Beauty Pie has acquired a legion of loyal and dedicated fans since launching in 2017, and in the process has successfully revolutionised the beauty industry by offering a subscription service of luxury products at unrivalled prices.

One of the most commonly held beliefs in beauty is that quality is determined by price. "You get what you pay for. Pay cheap; pay twice." Whatever your thoughts on that philosophy, Beauty Pie is living proof that this isn't always the case. You'll definitely have heard of it; after all, it is one of the most disruptive brands to enter the beauty sphere within the last 10 years (at least).

But if you've yet to try Beauty Pie and find yourself wondering whether to invest in a membership – or have just signed up but aren't sure which hero buys to add to basket – then check out our beauty team's expert run-down of the best Beauty Pie products, plus everything you need to know about the brand.

What is Beauty Pie?

Think of Beauty Pie as a luxury beauty subscription club. The brand is the brainchild of Marcia Kilgore, the entrepreneur behind iconic brands such as Soap & Glory and Bliss.

Sign up to be a member and it gives you access to luxury cosmetics at factory prices, removing markups from excess packaging, marketing and retailer middlemen. One thing they don't cut back on, though, is quality. These products are formulated by some excellent dermatologists and created in brilliant labs. Put simply, Beauty Pie gives customers the chance to buy luxury beauty products at cost price.

If there's a product you just love the look of but don't want to take up a membership, you can buy the items at 'typical price', too. It's hard to justify when you see the prices stacked against each other, though. For example: the excellent Super Healthy Skin Body Cream is £15.50 for members, but the quality and markups would give this product a typical price of £60.

    How does Beauty Pie Work?

First up, you have to sign up for membership – Beauty Pie only makes a profit from its members' subscriptions.

There are two membership options. The first is an annual subscription at £4.95 per month, or a monthly subscription, at £10 per month. You can cancel at any time by filling in a cancellation form.

You can also sign up for a free 30-day free trial to see if you like the site and products.

Unlike under the previous tiered membership system, there’s no longer a limit on how often you can shop or how much you can buy, so you can stock up as much as you like.

Now, the fun part – which products in this excellent catalogue are worth a membership? Turns out, a lot of them. The range of products under Beauty Pie really is astounding, and Red's beauty team are pleased to have sampled most (and keep coming back to them). They've recommended the brand to family and friends without hesitation; not only are the products excellent, but you can buy more or less an entire beauty routine in one place.

Here, find every Beauty Pie product loved, rated and recommended by Red's beauty team. You never know; our favourite might become your next favourite, too.

Now. It says something when a brand's most expensive product is also their bestselling, doesn't it? When Red's Senior Beauty Editor, Alexandra Friend, first tried this product, she understood immediately why this is. This serum is a workhorse, if there ever was one. In short, it's full of ingredients that work to plump up the skin, restore bounce and glow (think ceramides, peptides, hydrators). There's no such thing as a miracle treatment, but everyone we've known to use this has said their skin looks and feels better overnight. Alexandra is on bottle number 3, and is showing no sign of stopping anytime soon.

Applying SPF every morning would feel like a treat if they all felt as dreamy as this one. It has a light, lotion texture that absorbs with ease. The best part? It plays exceptionally well under makeup, even when you apply plenty of it. There's no pilling or rolling in sight: just a supremely comfortable satiny finish, that leaves skin feeling soft and subtly glowing.

While some setting sprays leave an uncomfortable, shrink-wrapped feeling on skin. Instead, this feels more like a skincare style facial mist, and it's packed with ingredients that suggest it is too (think niacinamide and aloe vera). It acts, though, like a setting spray: a few spritzes softens shine and locks makeup into place, helping it look fresher for longer. A smart buy for summer.

To soften fine lines around the eye area, you're going to need retinol. A surprising amount of eye creams won't have this. Beauty Pie's offering is as efficacious as you'd expect: yes, there's retinol here (but in a slow-release form designed to be gentle around the eye area), and hyaluronic acid and plant extracts to curb any potential irritation. It's thoughtful, it works hard and will make a slow but steady difference in making the eye area look fresher and brighter.

Red's beauty team are hard to please when it comes to foundation and bases. We've been taken by Beauty Pie's latest offering, though: a skin tint that feels more skincare than makeup. There's only a suggestion of coverage here, which is just enough to create a veil of tint and disguise minor redness or blemishes. The finish is gleamy (not glossy), and it wears beautifully throughout the day as it fuses into the skin. We like it best applied with fingers, swept over the skin and pushed into it for an imperceptible finish.

You'd be surprised at how hard it can be to get hyaluronic acid right. In too many formulas, the ingredient can feel sticky, gloopy or drying, sitting tackily under makeup. Forget those: Beauty Pie's serum is a masterclass in it. There's three weights of hyaluronic acid here for ample penetration and hydration, as well as line-softening peptides and ceramides to nurture the skin barrier. The texture is excellent too: gel-like and fast-absorbing, without even a hint of stickiness. Beauty Pie chop and change their product inventory often, but we don't anticipate this going anywhere.

It's OK to be dubious about a cleanser that claims to be suitable for both face and body; we were too. This is one that features salicylic acid and enzymes that act as a Pac-Man duo to nibble away at areas of congestion and really smooth the skin. It's great post-exercise to really get rid of any perspiration, as well as the upper limbs to smooth out areas of Keratosis Pilaris or KP (those little red bumps that so many of us have). It's only lightly foaming so gentle enough to use on the face, especially on the T-zone or areas prone to blemishes. Expect clearer, softer skin.

Dark circles and discolouration around the eye is best tackled with careful colour correction. These creamy pots neutralise areas of darkness in the inner corners of the eyes, and are best applied underneath your favourite concealer for complete coverage. Because they're best worn under concealer, their texture is balmy and hydrating, melting into skin with the warmth of a finger. These give instant lift and luminosity, and are an excellent way to fake more hours' rest.

Hydration always makes skin look better, which is why we can't get enough of this moisturiser that lends it in buckets. The gel texture is so light it practically melts into skin before you have a chance to rub it in, leaving behind only a pretty, natural gleam. All skin types will benefit from this, but oilier types will particularly enjoy how fresh this feels.

These pillowy lip crayons are a masterclass in matte: soft, plush and not at all drying. These are so easy to scribble on to the lips for some opaque colour, and can be built up without feelings of dryness. If your lips do veer to the drier side, do apply a lip balm before for maximum comfort; though we think you'll be surprised by the creaminess of this matte texture.

Our beauty writer, Phoebe Lee, covets just about every candle she finds; as such, there's a fair few she has lit over the years in pursuit of her favourite. The projection of this scent is one that started her love for Beauty Pie's candle offering. It reaches just about every corner of a room when lit, and smells great even when unlit. The scent is one that's fresh, comforting and familiar; she stocks up with every order she places.
