The Rocket Man’s latest hit single is sky high on the U.K. chart, while Sam Fender blows away the competition on the national albums survey.

Fender is crowned on the Official U.K. Albums Chart for a second time, as Seventeen Going Under (Polydor) blasts to the summit, and, in the process, outsells the rest of the Top 10 combined.

The Newcastle singer and songwriter’s sophomore album clocks in with 44,000 chart sales, the fifth biggest opening week of 2021, the OCC reports, with almost 80% of that sum in physical sales.

Once again, Adele fever appears to be sweeping the nation. Following the announcement of the popular singer’s fourth album, 30, due out Nov. 19, her most recent effort, 2015’s 25 (XL Recordings) leaps 27-6 on the Official Albums Chart, and her sophomore album 21 improves 48-14.

After three consecutive weeks at No. 2 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart” (EMI) lifts to No. 1.

It’s Elton eighth No. 1 single in the U.K. and first for 16 years, a drought that traces back to his feature on 2Pac’s posthumous 2005 release “Ghetto Gospel,” and it gives Lipa a third leader in that territory following “New Rules” (from 2017) and “One Kiss” (2018).

“Cold Heart” ends Ed Sheeran’s 15-week marathon run at No. 1, which stretched across two separate releases, “Bad Habits” (11 weeks via Asylum) and “Shivers” (four weeks).

The highest new entry this week goes to former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson, whose debut solo single “Boyz” (Polydor), featuring Nicki Minaj, starts at No. 4.
