• Brandy says she found an unusual ginger-honey tea that protects her throat from wear and tear: Prince of Peace Ginger Honey Crystals.
  • “I feel like my voice is being taken care of and coated,” the musician said in a recent interview. “I could hit notes that I normally wouldn’t have been able to hit without it.”
  • When she’s working, Brandy drinks up to 10 sachets in a day.

Singer, rapper, and actress Brandy makes a living with her voice—and she just spilled the tea on the tea she drinks to protect it.

In a new interview with The Strategist, Brandy, 42, said she first started looking for a way to soothe her voice and throat when she joined a Broadway production of Chicago. “I was really concerned about potentially ruining my voice, and I always had to be on point,” the musician said. “I asked around for what works to protect my voice, and I was introduced to this tea.”

The tea in question? Prince of Peace Ginger Honey Crystals, which doesn’t come in traditional tea bags, but rather crystals.“It’s little crystals that you drop in water, and it turns into tea that way,” Brandy explained.

“It feels so good when it goes down,” the “I Wanna Be Down” singer continued. “I feel like my voice is being taken care of and coated. After I started drinking it for a while, I could hit notes that I normally wouldn’t have been able to hit without it.”

Brandy isn’t precious with the tea; when she’s on set, she downs up to a third of a pack in a day. “Right now, I’m working on a show where I’m singing, rapping, and acting all day, so it’s been really important for me now, too,” the Queens actress told The Strategist. “I have a huge thermos, and I drop about ten packs into there, shake it up, then drink it throughout the day.”

Although most of us don’t perform all day, Amazon reviewers say there are plenty of reasons to stock up on the ginger-honey tea, especially during the colder months. (Plus, it’s earned a 4.8-star average rating from thousands of reviews.)

“This is the best tea, especially if you sing,” one writes. “It warms you on a cold morning. I like it best hot. I drink it 2 to 3 times a day.”

“I am not a tea drinker, but when I am sick, I usually switch my morning coffee and evening wine out for tea,” another reviewer explains. “The boost it gives me in my recovery is noticeable and intense, the honey soothes the throat, and the ginger clears the sinuses.”

“I am constantly battling nausea,” says yet another, who experiences frequent migraines. “I keep a couple packets with me wherever I go, and find it very easy to pour a small amount into my mouth when that symptom picks the worst moment to strike. The smell, taste, and sweetness of the crystals can stop the nausea instantly.”

And yes, there’s even more enthusiasm from the “I Do It for You” singer—reader, she really likes Prince of Peace tea. “It really helped me through every performance,” Brandy continued. “I was able to give it my all because I was consistent with drinking this tea.”

That’s it—if national treasure Brandy can spare this much praise for a drink, we can at least give it a try. To paraphrase one of the singer’s hits, the ginger-honey tea is mine.
