Peppa Pig is shooting for the stars trying to establish herself in the music world — and she has her eyes on a big-ticket collaboration.
During a rare Instagram Live appearance last weekend, pop juggernaut Adele previewed her now-released “Easy On Me” single and solicited fan questions in the livestream’s comments. One fan asked if she would collaborate with Peppa Pig, the face of the popular kids cartoon who has a couple of studio albums to her name, Seemingly appalled at the ridiculousness of the question, Adele responded with a firm “no,” which made its way to the titular character.
And during an interview with London-based radio station Capital FM following the release of “Easy On Me,” the show’s hosts had a voice message from the cartoon character that addressed the 33-year-old singer’s lack of interest in a collaboration.
“That made me really, really sad when you said you wouldn’t collaborate with me,” Peppa said. “Why not? Don’t you like me?”
Before responding to Peppa Pig’s comments, Adele asked the show’s hosts if there was a change in voice actress for the character, claiming to Peppa “that ain’t the one of you that I know,” and that it wasn’t the same voice as the one on the show that she watched with her son Angelo while he was growing up. She finished her direct response to Peppa Pig by saying that she regretted her initial denial of a collaboration and extended an open invitation to jump and sing in muddy puddles together.
This wouldn’t be the cartoon character’s first brush with musicians: The aspiring singer had a Twitter spat with Iggy Azalea ahead of the release of her debut My First Album record. Now, a collaboration with one of the world’s most popular singers might be in the cards.
