Lil Nas X Is Going Into High Fashion With Jean Paul Gaultier Collaboration

Lil Nas X knows how to get the people talking — whether via his music, controversial art collabs, viral memes, or on the red carpet. If he wants to, he will be the topic of conversation and now he is back with some more head-turning news: his first venture into the world of high fashion with a Jean Paul Gaultier collaboration.

Lil Nas X was bound to take a left turn into avant-garde, edgy fashion sooner or later. Since his earliest red carpets, the rapper has been using wardrobe to make statements and turn expectations on their heads. News of Lil Nas X's and Jean Paul Gaultier's collaboration broke officially on Sunday, September 19, though both parties had been teasing that something was in the works via their social media channels for weeks. 

When the biggest provocateurs come together, you know the outcome is going to bring drama. (The fun kind!) The collaboration, a long sleeve top with playful biblical imagery printed on tulle, celebrates the rapper's debut album, Montero. It’s a limited production batch of 666 pieces (of course), and preorders are available starting today, September 20. Delivery is expected to start in October, so who knows? Perhaps you’ll get yours just in time for Spooky Season!
