We recently published a list of canceled celebrities who people think deserve a second shot at fame. Readers flooded the comments with their own suggestions, and there were some pretty interesting takes. Here are 13 more stars people think should have another chance:
1. "What about Elizabeth Berkley, who's still slut-shamed and bashed for the movie Showgirls?"
2. "The Dixie Chicks were cancelled and received death threats for saying they didn't support the war in Iraq."
3. "I feel bad for what happened to Jennifer Grey... After she got rhinoplasty, Hollywood stopped casting her in movies because she lost her 'distinctive look' and supposedly looked 'too plain'... It's a shame that Hollywood put so much emphasis on her physical image over her acting abilities."
4. "Ahmed Best, who played Jar Jar Binks, was on the brink of suicide from all the Star Wars hate he got."
5. "Jake Lloyd — who played young Anakin Skywalker — was one of the earliest victims of toxic fandom hatred. They destroyed him. He was just a kid. I wish him all the best, and I hope he recovers some day."
6. "Lisa Bonet. Bill Cosby put a scarlet letter on her after the movie Angel Heart. The man accused of rape by multiple women thought she 'sullied' the image of The Cosby Show and Different World, and this affected her career going forward. So misogynistic."
7. "Summer Glau. I swear Hollywood has it out for anything she stars in."
8. "Linda Fiorentino. Not cancelled, but blacklisted. She's the woman who works in the morgue in Men in Black. Had one of the most unique smoky voices ever and such promising talent. She was looking to be the new 'it' girl...and then she did Kevin Smith's Dogma, right at his height. If I'm remembering correctly, she didn't ever actually DO anything, but Smith found her to be 'bitchy' and 'difficult.' Take from that what you will. He expressed this while he was hot shit, and she basically got no offers after that."
9. "Eartha Kitt was blacklisted for her criticism of the Vietnam War."
10. "Monica Lewinsky. What was done to her was horrific."
11. "Janet Hubert. She was booted from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air because Will Smith said she was difficult to work with, and she never got a decent gig again. He went on to be a huge star."
12. "Tara Reid. She was shamed for doing what almost everyone else in the industry had done: plastic surgery."
13. And finally, "Ben Curtis — the guy from the 'Dude, you're getting a Dell!' commercials — got fired and blacklisted over weed. Not a celebrity really, but still bogus."
