Anyone who has watched an entry in Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise knows that it thrives on drama. After 16 years of table flips, betrayals, and backstabbing, we’re all familiar with the formula, but the final word on the latest altercation came from an unexpected source Rihanna

Tensions were high on last night’s episode of Real Housewives of New York, where series veteran Ramona Singer inadvertently insulted newcomer Leah McSweeney, the designer of streetwear brand Married to the Mob. While out to celebrate Singer’s birthday, McSweeney voiced concerns about the upcoming charity single by fellow housewife Luann de Lesseps. This didn’t go over well and led to a spat wherein Singer offered to plug McSweeney’s line. The comment came across as a dig towards McSweeney’s clothing line and its distinctive sweatshirts. The designer countered with a chilly “you’re not my demographic,” pointing out that celebrities like Rihanna have already embraced the label.

Televised disagreements are standard issue Bravo fare but rarely do they end with a celebrity clap back. In defense of her friend, Rihanna logged on to Instagram and updated with a selfie wearing one of McSweeney’s tees that read “bitch mob.” Accessorized with layers of gold chains and one of the furry bucket hats that have become the star’s summer signature, the tee looked phenomenal. Given that McSweeney can also count it-girls like Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne among Married to the Mob’s fans, it’s clear that she won the argument this round. Still, Rihanna couldn’t help but have the last word, captioning her post with “what was said @ramonasinger?” Before adding on a smiley face emoji.
