Bob Odenkirk has been sent to hospital after collapsing on the set of Netflix's Better Call Saul.

The actor is receiving medical attention in New Mexico - where the Breaking Bad spin-off show is filmed.

Sources told TMZ that the star went down mid-scene and crew members immediately called emergency services at 11:34 am local time.

The 58-year-old was taken from the set to the hospital in an ambulance, where he remained on Tuesday night, a person close to Odenkirk who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter told The Associated Press.

It is not known what caused the collapse and for how long the star requires to stay in the hospital.

The Mirror has contacted a rep for Bob Odenkirk for comment.

He is currently filming the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul, which kicked off filming on March 10 this year.

Bob is well known for playing con-man lawyer Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul.

The role follows on from him transforming from earnest legal professional Jimmy McGill in Breaking Bad.

Better Call Saul follows Bob's character as he tackles cases as a powerful and greedy criminal defence lawyer.

He has yielded him four Golden Globe nominations for best actor in a television series drama, and four Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for his part in the show.

Bob recently starred in Nobody.

In the film, he plays a seemingly bland family man and office worker, Hutch Mansell.

However, it's clear that the movie is not that simple as when Hutch chooses not to aid his teenage son in fighting back when his family home is invaded by burglars.

Hutch then fears his family thinks he’s a failure and after his daughter’s bracelet appears to have also been stolen, Hutch tracks down the burglars but decides not to act when faced with their desperation.

Then on the way home, he stands up for a woman being hassled by a gang of criminals on a bus and engages in a violent brawl with the group - displaying a hidden set of combative skills.

The issue is that one of his opponents in the brawl is related to a major Russian mobster who soon comes after Hutch and all he cares about for vengeance.
