Lorde Just Surprise-Released Her New Single and the Internet Is Freaking Out

It’s not really summer (or the lead-up to summer, anyway) without a celeb musician dropping a surprise single, and that’s exactly what Lorde did last night, releasing her new hit “Solar Power” on streaming platforms, after it was accidentally leaked and quickly pulled. The song was accompanied by a sunny seaside music video in which Lorde purrs, “I hate the winter, can’t stand the cold” and smokes from a bulb of fennel. (Who can relate?)
