It's been a long school year for Columbus City Schools, and even though it's officially summer break, the community wants students to 'stay in the game.'

, teachers, and community members were all in hand celebrating the kids on the last day of school Thursday, because they're "staying in the game."

"This 'Stay in the Game' campaign is significant because if kids don’t come to school, we can't teach them," Womack said. "And I know there's online learning that's possible but there's nothing like one-on-one so we're very happy that we're through this pandemic and everybody can come to school and came to celebrate."

"Just encouraging attendance, I think that's huge for them and hopefully they'll take that in for next year,” Nagbe said. That's the goal, hoping for a great summer and an even better school year next year.
