BTS are dropping a limited-edition version of their upcoming second English-language single “Butter” (May 21) on cassette and vinyl. The $6.98 cassingle is slated to ship in June and features the song on both sides, while the $7.98 7″ vinyl single is one-sided and is slated to ship around the same time.
The announcement is the latest piece of the “Butter” promo puzzle, which has included a slow-drip of promo clips and photos for the song that a press release described as “a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS.” “Butter” will be BTS’ second English-language song following “Dynamite” in 2020, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made BTS the first all-South Korean group to lead the chart.
On Wednesday (May 5), the band released three new concept clips, including one in which J-Hope sat mesmerized by a yellow lollipop before dropping it on the floor, where it broke as a pulsating rhythm played in the background. In a second video, Jimin twisted open an orange soda bottle and took some refreshing sips while getting his groove on.
The third one spotlighted V snacking on gummies and trying to throw them in the air and catch them in his mouth before casually spilling the entire box.
