About 2 a.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Elm Street, near North Crowdus Street, where police say an altercation broke out between four people and shots were fired “immediately.”

I spent many years in Dallas and hung out in Deep Ellum all the time as a teenager and 20something and felt pretty safe. 30+ years have passed so I guess it's no longer safe. sigh
