Viewpoint fans turn off and demand the finale is cancelled in the wake of the allegations against the leading actor Noel Clarke.

Clarke was suspended by BAFTA, and his recent Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award was suspended, after allegations of serious misconduct which were published in a Guardian report.

The Viewpoint actor has denied the allegations made by 20 women through his lawyer.

Social media was awash with fans revealing they were switching off Viewpoint while others questioned whether the finale would be pulled from our screens in the wake of the bombshell claims.

Among the sea of comments, one read: "Let’s see if ITV do the right thing and drop tonight’s final episode of Noel Clarke drama #Viewpoint, while the allegations are investigated. Big on statements this year. One for the women, seeing it’s a female orientated channel?"

Viewpoint explored the story where DC Martin Young (Clarke) sets up a secret viewpoint to watch a man who is under suspicion for being involved in the disappearance of his missing school teacher girlfriend.

Four of the five-part drama have aired every night this week.

Viewpoint was scheduled to conclude the explosive storyline on Friday evening but some fans weren't going to be tuning in to watch its conclusion.

Others added: "Surely ITV are going to suspend showing the rest of Viewpoint in light of the allegations against Noel Clarke ?"

"In view of allegations about #NoelClarke will be giving last episode of #Viewpoint a miss tonight, was interested to see the conclusion tbh but..I'll live."

"I was enjoying Viewpoint this week. Now I’ve read this I’ll be switching off @itv @NoelClarke."

" #Viewpoint just deleted this from my recordings won’t be watching any more episodes after the disgusting allegations regarding Noel Clarke."

"I wonder whether @ITV will be showing the last episode of #Viewpoint tonight, considering the allegations made re Noel Clarke. I hope they do show it and not bow to the woke."

" #noelclarke So will today's final episode of #Viewpoint be pulled, or suspended?"

" @NickFerrariLBC Tricky question for @ITV. Do they still screen tonight's final episode of #noelclarke ironically titled star vehicle VIEWPOINT in view of very detailed @guardian investigation allegations and BAFTA's action? As someone who has admired Clarke's work I'm shocked."

The Mirror has approached ITV and Noel Clarke's representatives for further comment.

Married Clarke was in a storm of headlines after The Guardian published a report saying women who knew him in a "professional capacity" accused him of verbal abuse, bullying and sexual harassment.

Father-of-three Clarke has been accused of "sexual harassment, unwanted touching or groping, sexually inappropriate behaviour and comments on set, professional misconduct, taking and sharing sexually explicit pictures and videos without consent, and bullying between 2004 and 2019", according to The Guardian.

Speaking to the publication, Clarke spoke out in his defence to deny the claims.

He said: "In a 20-year career, I have put inclusivity and diversity at the forefront of my work and never had a complaint made against me.

"If anyone who has worked with me has ever felt uncomfortable or disrespected, I sincerely apologise. I vehemently deny any sexual misconduct or wrongdoing and intend to defend myself against these false allegations."

BAFTA responded: "In light of the allegations of serious misconduct regarding Noel Clarke in The Guardian this evening, BAFTA has taken the decision to suspend his membership and the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award immediately and until further notice."
