Hilary Duff is no stranger to fun hair colors, and she’s taking yet another break from her typical blonde ‘do with a cotton candy vibe.
The actor took to Instagram on Friday, February 19 to share her new, bright blue hair, explaining that she desperately needed a change. “I’ve gotta have fun somehow,” she joked in a video, showing off her sky-blue beach waves. “Gonna do blue for a while!”
In her caption alongside a series of photos, Hilary shouted out hairstylists Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee for “saying yes to another crazy change,” pointing out that at least it wasn’t bangs (fair), and adding that the hair transformation took “all day.” And before the rumors could start, Hilary, who is 8 months pregnant, stressed that the color does not necessarily mean she’s having a boy.

The color is certainly a pretty one, and in some photos it looks mermaid turquoise, while others make the hue seem more like a pastel baby blue. Either way, it suits Hilary really well, though this isn't her first time going blue. Back in April 2020, the Lizzie McGuire star dyed her hair a bright teal, singing the praises of Manic Panic Classic High Voltage in Bad Boy Blue. “This is temporary color and really easy to do yourself if you have any blond in your hair,” Hilary told Vogue last spring. “I always take out my anxiety on my hair — chopping bangs, chopping it all off, adding extensions, or dyeing it. So, two weeks into the quarantine… she needed a thrill!” The most relatable.
