Maria Fowler has shared a totally honest Instagram snap of herself in just her underwear to urge women to "embrace your flaws".

The former Towie star, 34, welcomed her second child, a daughter named Nellie, in September.

In a new post online, Maria stripped to a black bra and pants and told fans about her scars under both boobs, on her back and on her chin.

She also declared she has "got rubbish legs, and cellulite, and an annoying hole where I had my belly pierced when I was 14."

Embracing her body, Maria insisted without her scars she wouldn't be in the happy place she is now.

She wrote: "Hey, I've got scars! I've got this big one right here. I've got one under each boob, one on my back where I had a mole removed and I even have one on my chin...

"I've also got rubbish legs, and cellulite, and an annoying hole where I had my belly pierced when I was 14. And at the minute I’ve got back fat, quite a bit."

She goes on to add that a lot of her scars "you can't even see" as they are mental but they are all part of her life's journey.

Maria added: "But you know what... loads of good things have happened too, I fulfilled my dreams, I've travelled, a lot.

"I got married... me, yes me, Married!!! I have got not only one beautiful daughter, but two.

"I like my eyes, my hair's grown and it looks good! I'm quite funny at times.

"My friends are awesome, so are my family. So, so what if I have scars? we all have them visible scars and those pesky ones in our memories that nobody else can see.

"If I hadn't had those scars, I wouldn't have my babies. And as for those mental scars, they helped me grow into the person I am..."

Maria then addresses her fans and tells them not to compare themselves to seemingly perfect influencers - insisting they are "probably photoshopped anyway".

She went on: "Forget being perfect, who cares if that Instagram influencer has a banging body, it’s probably photoshopped anyway. Why are you comparing yourself to her?

"Does she have those memories you have? those beautiful children? the laugher at Christmas? The love, the scars?

"She isn't you, you’re unique and you should own it! Stop comparing yourself to impossible ideals.

"Take a walk, eat well if you want to and don’t apologise for your flaws because they’re not flaws they’re all the unique things that make you you!"
