When John Legend and model Chrissy Teigen met on the shoot of his video for Stereo in 2006, sparks instantly flew.

So much so that they ended up 'hooking up' back at his hotel room that very night.

"We did the music video, we were together for like 12 hours," Chrissy - who turns 35 today - told Wendy Williams in 2014.

"We spent the entire day together, me in my underwear and him in a full suit, and I went to go say goodbye to him, to his hotel and we didn't ever say goodbye that night."

They parted on casual terms and John left to go on tour with his Once Again album but kept in touch with Chrissy - who played it 'cool' - by phone and text.

"I let him be himself for a while," she once told Cosmopolitan of playing the long game. "The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, 'There's so much more out there.' I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, 'What are we?'"

And John soon found himself falling in love. "We were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humor," he told Entertainment Tonight in 2016. "We would talk on the phone, and I started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is.

"Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realised we had such a connection," he continued.

But a few years into their relationship, John tried to end things with Chrissy after falling ill on tour - but she refused to let him.

“I was really stressed and busy,” he explained to The Guardian.

“I was just like, ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like, ‘No.’”

Their split lasted only thirty minutes and in 2013 they tied the knot in Lake Como, Italy.

Shortly before their big day, John penned one of his biggest hits, All Of Me, as an ode to his wife-to-be.

Now a favourite at weddings across the globe, the touching song tells of John's complete adoration for every aspect of Chrissy - including one which she despises.

During an appearance on The Ellen Show, the Sports Illustrated model revealed that she loathes her feet - so much so that it was written into her modelling contract that they must never be shown.

And she later confirmed on Twitter that one of John's most famously romantic lines from the song was actually about her feet!

"They're what John meant by 'curves and edges,'" she tweeted.
