Linda Lusardi has returned home after a stay in hospital with coronavirus, her husband Sam Kane has confirmed.
The 61-year-old former Dancing On Ice star was admitted to hospital on March 19, after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and her 51-year-old husband shared worrying updates as her health deteriorated rapidly.
Sam was also admitted to hospital with the virus but he was discharged a few days later.
Unfortunately, Linda's condition was considerably worse and there were moments when her fans worried that she may be overcome by the illness, as she fought for her life.
Kane revealed that she was breathing with the help of oxygen equipment, while Linda herself tweeted she had "never felt this ill".
However, Sam tweeted on Sunday night that Linda had recovered sufficiently to be sent home, saying: "So blessed to be spending tonight with my beautiful girl at home by my side. God bless the NHS. So happy to have her home."
Before Linda was discharged, Sam had posted an update on Facebook as she turned the corner with her health.
He wrote: "Dear friends. Apologies for the lack of updates.
"I’m happy to say that Linda is doing really well. She’s getting stronger and stronger as the days go by. Still a long way from well but much closer to it than my last post. Her spirits are up and she’s back to bossing me about so that’s massive.
"Once again. Your messages, your prayers, your love and support have been so incredibly helpful through all of this. I’ve told Linda all about your messages and she says a huge thank you to you all. She absolutely knows it’s helped. So many thanks.
"Huge thank you to my spiritual healers out there too. June Field, TJ Higgs and George Christie for your incredible support and help through this. Your healing and your reassurance has been a lifeline for me. Thank you so much.
"The light is in sight my pals. I’m so happy to tell you this. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
Linda and Sam have urged fans to follow the advice of experts on self-isolation because she has coronavirus symptoms.
The former glamour model tweeted after being admitted to hospital: "I wouldn't wish this on anyone. So stay safe everyone and follow the advice of the experts - please take care of yourselves, loved ones and each other."
Lusardi, whose TV appearances include Emmerdale, Dancing On Ice and Loose Women, found fame in the 1970s and '80s, and in a 2005 poll was voted the UK's most popular Page 3 girl ever.
