Watch Joe Exotic Sing 'Here Kitty Kitty' About Carole Baskin And All His Other Country Songs
There's so much more than what you saw in 'Tiger King.'
Netflix’s new true crime documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness has blessed viewers with many memorable moments, from Joe Exotic's presidential campaign videos to Carole Baskin's wedding photos. But one of the greatest things to come out of the show has been Joe Exotic's country music songs.
During a Reddit AMA with someone who said they worked for Joe for five years, a Reddit user asked, "Was that ACTUALLY Joe’s singing voice in the country songs?" To which the alleged former G.W. Zoo worker responded, "It most certainly was not." (Worth noting: Another Reddit user said this was also addressed years ago in season two of Over My Dead Body, a podcast from Wondery about Joe Exotic that was recently re-released as Joe Exotic: Tiger King.)
Whether or not it's actually Joe Exotic (whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage) singing his now-iconic country music songs, Tiger King fans are particularly interested in "Here Kitty Kitty," a song Joe says is about Carole Baskin in the Netflix show. "Here Kitty Kitty"
Perhaps Joe Exotic's most-famous music video to date, it shows a woman, who resembles Carole Baskin, feeding raw meat to a tiger, while Joe sings alongside her.
"I Saw a Tiger"
This is Joe Exotic's first music video, created "to help protect and save tigers from China poaching and tiger farms," according to the song's YouTube description.
"Alisa's Memory (Alisa's Butterflies)"
This nearly nine-minute song was "inspired by Alisa Finley," the YouTube description reads. The blurb also gives "many thanks to the USZA Animal Miracle Network and John Finlay [one of Joe Exotic's husbands] for making her dreams come true."
"My First Love"
This romantic ballad is dedicated to John Finlay, one of Joe's husbands.
"Do You Ever Wonder What Love Could Do?"
According to the YouTube description, this music video was made to "show that the love between animals no matter their species has the love and bond with their owners." The song's description also includes a notice saying that "the people in this video are either actors or own these animals" and "the footage of the primate, bear and tigers was donated to Joe Exotic for the purpose of this video by the owners of these animals."
"Pretty Woman Lover"
This biker-themed music video shows Joe Exotic singing about how lucky the ladies are to have him. "I'm a pretty woman lover, I'm an ugly woman's dream. Baby you're lucky to have a man like me," he sings. (Worth noting: Joe is an out and proud gay man.)
"The Sun Says"
"This was performed by Country Music Artist Joe Exotic in Honor of his father who has been married to his mother for over 50 years and has been by one of the most horrible of all disease's [sic] which is alzheimer's," reads the music video's YouTube description. The song is also "dedicated to anyone in the world hit with this same disease and may you remember your past."
"GW and Me"
"This song was done in memory of my Brother G.W. The best man I have ever known. Filmed on locations of actual events," the music video's YouTube description reads. (In the docuseries, Joe explains that one of the reasons he opened the G.W. Zoo was for his brother.)
