Tonight inside the Piazza Lina Bo Bardi, Versace presented its first coed runway show—and designer Donatella Versace's extra dose of "hyper-masculinity" could be felt throughout, from the sharp tailoring to the slicked hair.

“It’s a nod to the boyish feeling that Donatella was looking for,” explained hairstylist Guido Palau, who sculpted an array of deep, side-parted styles including close crops and stark low ponytails. To create the latter, as seen on Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Imaan Hammam, the pro smoothed the hair with Redken’s No Blow Dry Cream before tying it back and adding a trompe l’oeil extension to the front, razoring the layers for a sliced effect as they grazed the forehead. To set the hair into the place and impart a glass-like luster, blasts of Triple Take 32 Extreme High-Hold Hairspray locked in stray flyaways.

Echoing the androgynous glamour of the hair, makeup artist Pat McGrath sought to "celebrate clean, beautiful skin," adding a micro-layer of foundation before going in with her new Skin Fetish concealer and adding a flush to the cheek with a mix of MatteTrance Lipstick in Femme Bot and BlitzTrance Lipstick in Skinsane. Bringing out the eyes, she rimmed the eyes in almost-black brown pigment and added fluttery sets of lashes.

Whether peaking out from below one of the collection’s architectural jet-black hats, or worn alone, the wispy, sideswept hair was both sexy and sophisticated—not unlike the collection itself, which ran the gamut from kaleidoscopic minidresses to tailored power suits.
