(all laughing) - Hi, I'm Gabi. - Hey, I'm Jerry. - And I'm La'Darius. - [All] From "Cheer" on Netflix. - And we came all the way from Corsicana, Texas-- - [All] To fix your lives with "Elle." - And a few readers had questions for us about love, life, and everything in-between. - We've got spirit! I mean, the answers you guys are looking for. - But before we get started, make sure you stream "Cheer" on Netflix and subscribe to "Elle"'s channel. (pop music) - Oh, child, that's one right here. It says, "My husband left me for a younger woman. "They're now divorced and he wants to be friends. "Do I let him back in my life?" Sis, no ma'am. You are not lettin' nobody who can walk out on your marriage that y'all bound together with God and then try to get back in your life, that is not how this works, no. If he was man enough to leave, then he is man enough to hang hisself out there to try because you are not takin' nobody back. (Gabi snaps) You are too good of a woman and too strong of a woman and God made you perfect in every single way possible. So if he can't see that, another man will. "Jerry, you're so positive and uplifting, "even when you face personal setbacks. "I can't relate. "It's a struggle for me to be optimistic "and keep a good attitude. "How do you do it?" Um, I would say I do it because of the way I was raised. I was always raised to be happy and always do the right thing, so I feel like it came easy for me to just give that to others in this world and always look out for other people. - "This guy I work with is not a team player. "He blames everyone else for his mistakes, "and takes credit for other people's work. "How should I approach him?" I think a good way to approach him would just to be honest with him and tell him how you feel because if you're being truthful I feel like he should understand and don't attack him about it, just kind of go to him calmly in just like a one-on-one conversation, don't do it in front of a bunch of people, and have a sit down, sit down talk. - "I'm struggling with coming out to my family "because they've made homophobic comments and jokes before. "What do I do?" Honestly, I feel like if you're gonna come out to your family, you gotta make sure that they are ready for that conversation because not only are you takin' a leap of faith with yourself, you're takin' a leap of faith with how they're gonna feel because everybody has feelings. You have to be prone to knowin' how to deal with that. Because you're not gonna be the only one that has the certain feelings on how you feel about the situation. And honestly, a lot of families make a lot of homophobic, um like gestures and remarks and stuff like that because they think it's like joking and funny and playful 'cause they don't really realize what people are really goin' through internally. So I feel like if you had that conversation with them in a different setting, one-on-one, like dad, mom, sister, or brother, whoever it is, to be like, "Look, this is who I am. "And I want you know some of the things that you say "are a little bit offensive to me "or I take it in a different way than you guys take it. "And I want you to know, I love who I love, "I am who I am, I hope you take me for who I am." That's what I would do if I were you. - Oh, this is perfect. "My friend and I are vying for captain of the cheer team, "and the competition is spilling off the mat "into our real lives. "How do we keep the peace, "even though it seems like we're being pitted "against each other?" First off, I would tell you guys to, personally to always leave whatever is going on on the mat on the mat. Because when you take it off the mat you will take it to heart and feelings will get hurt when you start bringing it up. - I say communication is key because honestly, it is just cheerleading so try to like leave that stuff in cheer practice. And if you guys are really, really good friends I don't think it should affect your relationship. - Very that, what Gabi said. I feel like cheerleading is not every day in your life. When you're goin' outside, you don't have to be captain of outside, you ain't the captain of the outside, you the captain street, girl? (laughing) Like, there is no point in to sittin' out there bein' mad about anything. Talk to each other. If you're not captain, this is what I want to say to you. You can be the best co-captain or you can be the best understudy from a captain that you can be. Make sure she's doin' good. Because that's what good friends and good people do. You don't have to be captain to be in that role. Okay, baby?
