Steve Martin and Martin Short to star in new Hulu comedy about true-crime fanatics

The Golden Globe-winning Ramy also sets a return date.

Best buds Steve Martin and Martin Short are joining forces again, this time for Hulu.

After touring their comedy show across America and recording one of their performances as a Netflix special, two-thirds of the Three Amigos will now costar in a new comedy from co-creators Martin and John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie). The untitled show received a straight-to-series order from Hulu, as announced Friday during the Television Critics Association presentations.

The premise follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.

Also involved are This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal, also from This Is Us, who both executive produce alongside Martin, Short, and Hoffman.

Additional announcements from Hulu at TCA include Ramy, that show that won a Golden Globe and its star/creator Ramy Youssef got up on stage and joked about how the audience probably hadn’t watched his show. It will officially return May 29 with 10 new episodes, which will feature Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

Season 2 renewals were also given to Wu-Tang: An American Saga with Ashton Sanders and Dollface with Kat Dennings. Premiere dates were then set for The Great (May 15), penned by The Favourite scribe Tony McNamara, and Solar Opposites (May 8), from Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.
