$1.8 billion Frisco Station project is getting a pickleball venue

Georgia-based Competitive Social Ventures’ new development will include “a pickleball destination with world-class courts,” golf course simulators, a restaurant and pub.

Construction is set to begin next spring with an opening about a year later. The property will include both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts.“Frisco has its first premier venue for pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the world, and the space is the perfect place to host prestigious pickleball tournaments in the future,” Trey Sibley, general manager of The Rudman Partnership, said in a statement.

The Frisco location is the first such combined project for Competitive Social Ventures, which is opening facilities in Houston, Scottsdale, Louisville, Tampa, Atlanta and Greenville, S.C. The Frisco venue will have multiple entertainment options including, cornhole, beach volleyball and ping-pong.

“Our residents have been asking for more pickleball courts for quite some time, so I’m confident this concept will be popular with locals and visitors, alike,” Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney said in a statement. “We’re a community with an active lifestyle and look forward to this concept complimenting Frisco Station’s development.”The Frisco Station project is one of several new entertainment options under development in Dallas’ northern suburbs.
