Zoos will close permanently and animals have to be put down unless the Government allows them to reopen, MPs have warned ahead of a Commons debate on Thursday.

It's time Zoo's were phased out. So wrong in this day and age. Why must humans have a need to view animals as objects of entertainment? Whenever you see an animal pace in their enclosure by the way, that's a sign of stress!!

I just do not understand why they are not letting them reopen - under appropriate conditions. Local reserve gone thru all the regs, council approved, ready to re-open and w'out warning told to stay closed indefinitely. Ikea, public parks, protests in cities all ok though.

Put. Down?!? These are f*cking LIVES we're talking about here, not some kind of replaceable assets!

If people can protest over some disingenuous premise by the thousands, surely zoos can reopen.

Unless i get back to work I might have to do the same to the kids!!!
