Shocking picture of an iconic place, the Victoria Falls, telling us that we urgently need Peace with Nature. Reminding me of a depressing helicopter flight over a shrinking Lake Chad a few years ago. Only 10 percent remains of the rich and mighty Lake Chad of the 1950ies.
I visited South Africa and the Victoria Falls in February this year and the River and falls were flowing well then. Had a helicopter flight over the falls and spectacular.
Yesterday a man tweeted he was about to lose his house in the fires. He sais the fires were the Greens fault and he also said he didn’t believe the fires were caused by climate change. 😑
What a sad picture! I can only imagine the plight of the ecosystem the Zambezi river supports downstream and upstream. A Dry and Parched Earth is a really frightening prospect!
