‘World’s oldest man’ stuns airport staff by flashing his passport he claims ‘proves’ he’s 123 years old

AN Indian man has stunned airport staff by showing a passport which claims he is aged 123.

His passport says that he was born on August 8, 1896, in Behala, India and has been trying to have his age confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records for three years.Sivananda lost both parents before he was six and was given away by his relatives to a spiritual guru, with whom he travelled around India before settling in the holy city of Varanasi.

The oldest person who is currently alive and recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records is Kane Tanaka of Japan, aged 116 years and 278 days. According to the Oldest in Britain website, the title of the UK’s oldest person is now held by 111-year-old Dorothy Payne, of Sevenoaks, Kent, who was born on August 5, 1907.“I avoid taking milk or fruits because I think these are fancy foods. In my childhood I slept many days on an empty stomach.
