A giant stingray caught in the Mekong River in Cambodia is the world's largest recorded freshwater fish, scientists have said. The stingray, which measured almost four metres from snout to tail and weighed slightly under 300kg , was captured on 13 June, according to a statement by Wonders of the Mekong, a joint Cambodian-US research project.

It was caught by a local fisherman south of Stung Treng in the northeast of the country and nicknamed"Boramy", or"full moon", by locals because of its round shape. The previous record for a freshwater fish was a 293kg Mekong giant catfish, discovered in Thailand in 2005, the group said."When you see a fish this size, especially in freshwater, it is hard to comprehend, so I think all of our team was stunned," Wonders of the Mekong leader Zeb Hogan said.

Mr Hogan added that the fact fish can still get this big is a"hopeful sign for the Mekong River", despite environmental challenges.

British general claims troops must be prepared to fight World War ThreeA top British general has warned that all troops in the country must be prepared for the possibility of World War Three with Russia. Britain would last 2 minutes against Russia. They're crap, but Britains military is tiny. If he’s truly dying he should be considered dangerous because he might want to go out with a bang. But despite the stark message, he pledged to mobilise an army which would beat Russia. How can a top British General make such a stupid statement! If Russia was pushed into an existential decision they would unleash their Arsenal of nuclear weapons on the world Nobody would win

Unhappiness is soaring around the world, laments Jon CliftonAcross the world, negative emotions reached a record high last year, says the head of Gallup. But the problem began long before the pandemic. In a guest essay, he urges policymakers to respond Gallup These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11 KJV Gallup Thank you for this contribution. Happy or unhappy, that is really the question. Not just for policy makers though, we all bear responsibility ... for ourselves. For example: How do we define happiness at work? What do we consider to be a successful career? KnowThyself Gallup You call them negative emotions and I call them frustrations, disenfranchisements and feeling betrayed. The negativities are induced by your own agitators, activists and mercenaries to sidetrack the general public from voicing its legitimate concerns.
