A woman who is suing a rape crisis charity says she felt unable to speak at a support group after a transgender woman began attending the same meeting.
However, Sarah's lawyers claim that by adopting a trans-inclusive approach - and not providing a session for women who were born female - the charity failed to meet the needs of all sexual violence victims. She says she felt an immediate benefit from the group sessions. "We had either been abused as children or had experiences as women. It was a very safe space to speak about the feelings we had been through."
"I don't trust men because I have been raped by a man. I've been sexually abused by men. And I just don't necessarily trust that men are always who they say they are," she said. It added: "In both the assessment and in the handbook, it is explained that all women, including trans women, are welcome in the women's only group. The claimant was made aware of Survivors' Network trans-inclusive position prior to attending the group."
Perfectly understandable reaction... of cause today it's trans peopleeveryone else.
I’m not sure how I feel about this story. I have a deep sympathy for trans gender people and the hell they go through, but I do feel that my rights as a woman are being disregarded. We all need to talk without being called transphobic and/or sexist and get to a middle ground

Wait, so this woman was made aware beforehand the support group she was attending was trans-inclusive, and is now suing a rape crisis centre for gender discrimination after a trans woman attended?

How did she know the other person was trans? Did she ask? Did she try and take a peek in the bathroom? Or did she just make an assumption based on nothing?
Womens crisis orgs have been supporting trans women, for decades, even using self-id!!

She knew the service was trans inclusive, she assumed a person in the group was a trans woman, she asked and she was offered one to one sessions but there was a waiting list. This wasn't good enough so she is suing a charity so they have to divert funds to this.
What a horrible and ghoulish thing to do, seems like a set-up by a troublemaker out to ruin women’s services. And right after the news out of America? Disgraceful. These “GC”s are such barely concealed fascists it’s a joke.

We all need and should have a personal choice - but can’t help feeling these organisations just perpetuate victimhood - feeling good about being a victim isnt the answer.
If men are referred elsewhere, then it is wrong for those not born female to attend. The purpose of male exclusion is to exclude biological males. This is a definite place for born female only. Other groups can be available.
All society groups should have representation Women , Men, ( transgender is a diversity from the above two? ) for that there should be support for Men, Women Transgender and if there out any other diversity groups then call them by the name Who They Are
Good on her. Undermining one groups rights to cater for another is not acceptable.
