A WOMAN fell nearly a mile after her parachute failed to open – and survived the horror plunge.
The 30-year-old female, who has not been named, fell more than 4,900ft to the ground and crashed into trees, according to witnesses.The incident occurred at the skydiving centre Parachutisme Adrénaline in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec on August 10. Witness Denis Demers told Radio-Canada: "It's a miracle. I don't know how a person can survive a fall from an airplane like that."The woman was badly injured in the plunge, suffering several fractures and broken vertebrae.Local police said the woman was an experienced skydiver but her life was not in danger.
Another witness, Oceane Duplessis, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: "We watched all the way to the end. We kept hoping something would happen.Police are currently investigating the incident for the possibility of any criminal negligence.on a birthday skydive in Morelos, Mexico.
