A massive replica of the Leviathan Axe from the popular God of War video game has been spotted in London. Sony has placed the axe there to celebrate the variety of games they produce as well as hail the end of a PlayStation 5 shortage.
The axe is the iconic weapon used by the Greek god, Kratos from the action adventure franchise that started back in 2005. The most recent instalment of the game called God of War: Ragnarok was released late last year, selling a whopping 5.1 million copies between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions in it's first week on sale.
"If you're considering seeing it in person, experts speculate the axe will be gone by Tuesday evening. ". Along with the campaign, Sony have thanked fans for their "patience" following an "unprecedented demand for the PS5 console amid global challenges." Upon the PS5's release back in 2020 gamers found it very difficult to buy the console following a worldwide supply issue.
Earlier this year, PlayStation CEO, Jim Ryan confirmed that the console shortage is over after the company reported 30 million units sold since it's release.
