A nurse told an A&E full of patients they would be there for 13 hours before seeing a doctor

The Government has conceded it needs to make changes to the NHS, with health secretary Sajid Javid saying it was a "Blockbuster healthcare system in the age of Netflix".When asked on LBC's Nick Ferrari at Breakfast whether the health secretary wanted to turn it into "wholly American owned [where] you have to pay a premium to enjoy its programmes", Mr Javid said he was talking about "modernisation".

"And I think we all want our NHS to be as strong as possible, we want it to be there, free at the point of use, paid out of general taxation, and we want it to offer us modern services."

NHS hiring more doctors from outside UK and EEA than inside for first timeJeremy Hunt questions ‘morally dubious’ recruitment as thousands hired from poorer countries I quite like the idea that lots of Brexiters who bought the lie that Polish plumbers were a threat to the UK will spend their twilight years having their asses wiped by an army of brusque Senegalese nurses who simply Will. Not. Tolerate. Their. Nonsense. A clear failure of govt workforce strategy. It has been clear for a decade what is needed and the govt didn't do it. It's concerning as their English and general aptitude for the role only make me see red flags and disaster looming. Though they are not white, so it's all right.
