Sellers attempt to keep edible goods out of landfill - with brave buyers making the most of hefty discounts and a chance to help environment

“Ambient” foods that are safe to store at room temperature, like tinned products or biscuits, with best-before dates as far back as 2019, are being sold online by websites that claim to be keeping edible goods out of landfill.
