What's next for 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic after Australia row?

No player has won more Australian Open men's titles than Novak Djokovic, who lifted the trophy for a ninth time in 2021

The row stopped the 34-year-old Serb having a shot at making more tennis history - but also raises further questions for Djokovic, plus other players who are reluctant to be vaccinated against Covid-19, for the season ahead. Nadal, 35, could move ahead by winning for the first time since his only triumph there in 2009, while 40-year-old Federer is missing with a long-term knee injury.

Generally throughout his career, Djokovic has taken a few weeks off after the Australian Open before returning for the ATP Masters tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami in March. Limited exceptions include people with "documented medical contraindications to receiving a Covid-19 vaccine" and those whose entry would be in the national interest.

After Monte Carlo, there are two more Masters events in Rome and Madrid before the European clay-court season culminates with the French Open in Paris at the end of May.

Celebrity & Money does not trump Public Health

You can't spell Djokovic without covid. The silly sausage needs to get the vaccine.

Tell the truth?

Vaccination?

Go and get VACCINATED or else NO more tournaments.

He'll declare that the Grand Slam was a fake and that he really 'WON'.

A long flight home one assumes

Not the AO

Any thing he likes, he’s a multi millionaire, don’t feel pity.

Obscurity

Boring

Go throw more unvaccinated parties in his own country or expose more kids to a deadly virus 🤷🏽‍♂️

Next it’s go home and face the trouble he’s in there for breaking isolation rules.

It’s really a ridiculous thing of Australian government! it’s Australian authorities granted Novak a visa on medical exemption in the first place

Who cares what happens to NovakDjokovic! As they say in the army, he has been RTM - Returned to Mama! Will not miss this arrogant, belligerent, spoiled, lying AntiVaxxer. Kudos to Australia government for protecting its citizens and walking tall. COVID19 pandemic is serious.

A lot of bloody complaining probably

Whether rightly or wrong the main thing is the Australian open will be worse for not having its defending champion there defending his title

Retirement. Bye.

Now Djokovic has been sent packing now Boris Johnson also needs to be sent packing from Downing street.

What next for Novak? A job working for the tory party because they love and support those who do not follow the covid rules

At this point, who cares.

Play with himself.. 🤷‍♀️

Novak Djokovic’s controversial beliefs and why he is opposed to the vaccineWhy is Novak Djokovic opposed to vaccine? Does anyone care. He put people at risk after testing positive and lied about it. That's his character, and that's what matters. Mene interesuje kako igra tenis i volim da uživam u tome. Šta me briga kakva su njegova uverenja o bilo čemu osim o tenisu? Ja imam svoja uverenja i svoje stavove kad je moj privatni život u pitanju. Zar je na ljude rođene u vekovnim demokratijama tako lako izvršiti uticaj? Because having beliefs not conducing to anti-Covid vaccination is abnormal and requires punishment and appropriate corrections. But the truth is that the only thing making vaccination obviously and morally indispensable are government edicts, not science based bindings.

Raducanu & Murray lead British interestEmma Raducanu and Andy Murray lead the British interest before the start of an Australian Open still clouded by the Novak Djokovic controversy. So BBC CNN and others use these accusatory language like '..they do what they want' as to create the perception that they did something wrong to swing public opinion against them and take them down, like you did with Trump Novak and now your UK PM that did your dirty work so far. Forget tennis, his involvement here is a far more important news item. Why is the media not talking about this story?
