It did with SARs 2004.That was a pandemic. Like Swine Flu 2009 another pandemic that killed 600000 worldwide and UK had over 100000 cases few deaths but no lockdown. Those were the days when government decided policy not social media both SARs and Swine Flu types of Corona virus.
The world population was less than now, so there would have been less human contact, less pollution, relatively younger and healtier people. Therefore, in my opinion, it would have been approximately the same.
