Campaigners have called No 10's plans a 'disproportionate sledgehammer solution'.

At a cost of up to £20million per election, this is a colossal waste of energy and resources at a time when we should be focusing on the UK’s recovery.

‘Research from 2019 estimated that 1.3 million people in the UK do not even have a bank account. That makes mandatory voter ID a barrier to many people exercising their right to vote. ‘If mandatory ID were to be rolled out nationally, it could result in tens of thousands of voters being denied a say every election.supports HTML5 video

Voting: Could ID checks affect who participates in elections? The government says it will pass a law requiring photo ID to vote. That's the point!! All you have to do is take your voter card that you get through the post. Have a unique bar code put on it, so it can be handed in and scanned when you go to vote. Once it’s scanned, the card cannot be used again even if you fraudulently print another one. This is one of the ugliest things I have seen💔💔💔💔💔💔 Palestine PalestinianLivesMatter SaveSheikhJarrah القدس_ينتفض القدس_تنتفض الاقصى الأقصى_ينتفض
