The photo obtained by Time Magazine shows the then 29-year-old with other members of the faculty. Several are in fancy dress, but Mr Trudeau is the only one who appears to have coloured his skin. Mr Trudeau also said that"it was a dumb thing to do" and that he will be asking Canadians"to forgive me for what I did".

It is ironic, Charles Holland, a black professional opera singer, could not be Othello, in Carnegie Hall, the part traditiionally had white singers with painted face and hands. He emigrated to Europe, where I met him, in Amsterdam, and years later, returned to America.

It is actually 'brownface'. He was dressed up as Aladdin in an Arabian Nights themed night at a school he taught at. He was 29yrs old at the time. This is his third allegation of wearing racist attire when he was younger.
