Black woman on cover👏🏾👏🏾 Black cover photographer👏🏾👏🏾 Change is coming 👧🏾👧🏿

So now the article is about the photographer and not about the beautiful Viola Davis?

Me as PR advisor to VF: with my finger on the social media zeitgeist, this really isn't something to shout about right now. Best keep it quiet and make it look like it's a surprise to us as well.

Just a thought... if I look at an image or photograph, I wouldn’t know or care about the ethnicity, gender or nationality of the artist or photographer. I’m sure an editor chooses an image on its own merits, rather than who produced it.

I'm not Black and i like it.

She must feel like a fraud. Why now?

Why does it matter if the photographer is black? It’s whether the photographer is good that matters!

seriously

Bout time, and a very nice start too

Next time in the 'divide & conquer' saga. Yellow person tells black person that a white jew said he wasn't human. fakenews divideandconquer assholes

And such a great choice!

Yes now it's kind of mandatory

A 37 year old publication should be embarrassed it took so long not proud that it happened.

Ni.gger

Who gives a shit?

A 37 year old magazine should be embarrassed not proud about this 'achievement'.

So what

Honestly, that seems almost unbelievable.

well that doesn't make me want to buy it. WTF. it has been around since the 80's. you have to be kidding me.

What needs to stop is the identity of people through skin colour and sexuality..

So antiracism is all about black people right ? I see nothing about Asians ones being the first here or there

BLMTerrorism 🤬🤬🤬

Seriously there are so many beautiful woman of color, can't believe this is a first. Kuddos anyhow.

How about putting the name of the person in the tweet line rather than 'black photographer'? It's so patronizing towards the person.

Who cares?

I can't believe Vanity Fair has never used a black photographer before

Take that, racism!

So... fucking... what? When is the Guardian going to have a black editor? And the reply should be; Who... fucking... cares?

Wooow Vanity Fair a little late to the party
