with Italian fashion house Marni flew off the shelves back in May 2022. Well, we’re happy to report that the collection is back for a second round this December, bringing with it plenty more joy-filled designs, but this time covering cold-weather essentials.
From block-colour waffle knits and heat-tech tops to vibrant, oversized puffers and striped skirts, there is so much to love in the brand’s latest drop, and we’re certain it will be just as successful as the spring offering. Just like the first collection, the pieces are the perfect blend of Uniqlo’s clean-cut, utilitarian aesthetic and Marni’s crayon-hued appeal. Run, don’t walk.
A longtime Uniqlo customer himself, Marni’s creative director Francesco Risso found the brand’s minimal, yet eclectic take on essentials a clever counterpoint to his art-focused approach at Marni. “I was blown away, myself, to realise how much precision and how many almost mathematical recipes are behind the most simple piece,” he says.
The universality is important to both Marni and Uniqlo. “It was fun in the design process to see that every piece was interchangeable from gender to gender,” continues Risso. “The designs are quite neutral, welcome to all the creatures of the planets.”planet, with the second drop arriving in the UK on 1 December in selected Uniqlo stores and online. This week, teamgot the chance to preview the collection before its release date to report back on the pieces we genuinely loved.
