It was expected with children and more people returning to school and work. We just need to remind ourselves to follow the rules and guidelines on keeping safe for ourselves and others.

Yet COVID-19 deniers like toadmeister and allisonpearson reckon there's nothing to worry about.

Why is there so many “issues “ with reporting? They do seem to be rather “timely”.

😂😂there you go Boris has Covid in control

Colour me surprised

I know it will test your journalistic accuracy to it's limits but that's ENGLAND, not the UK. The other nations are doing just fine - care to point that out?

Covid19 cases have risen to the highest daily total since midJune, ministers failed to publish data blaming “Technical difficulties”.The figure of 1148 was not surprising at all considering the army of 'COVIDIOTS' descended on our local beaches the past fortnight!🥵🤯🤬

panicdemic propaganda That'll be Pillar 2, the secret numbers known only to the Westminster mob Keep having trouble making it add up

enjoy the beach you were warned

Time to buy vaccine from Putin.

RIP†

or the UK is just testing more and more people

AnneLai31821380 And all the ministers think its safe for our kids at school!! I don't bloody think so

High temperatures, high cases, low economy... Oh babay!

cocklewoman What!? Is this true?

The rise is down to more people being tested. Without being tested, you can't be sure. It could have been much higher earlier in the year before we had the testing capacity, but we don't know because there weren't enough tests being conducted. 1/2

That'll be England more or less mate.

This will of course be a massive coincidence. Probably down to being pre-occupied with ice cream and dinghies.

Things that didn’t age well....🤡

The public are the only ones to blame now. We all know the rules and have ignored them.

Rise in UK Covid cases above 1,000 a day breached government targetExclusive: 1,000-case ceiling to avoid virus flare-ups was set by Joint Biosecurity Centre in May This comes as no surprise, I’ve just returned home from the Middle East and the UK is not really following social distancing, no border controls at LHR, quarantine compliance & review is a shambles and enforcement does not exist! This isn't a helpful measure. In the 1000 were many backdated results. Key is hospital admissions. They continue to fall. We are finding the mild cases. Need to look at data trends, not single days. Surely under extreme pandemics the notion of democracy is reversed to public compliance with the rules otherwise heavy implications apply, this seems to have dropped the cases significantly in other countries!
