Labour leadership contender Rebecca Long-Bailey said the government must be “very clear” about what is classed as essential work. There are workers right across the country this week who have been going to construction sites, warehouses, call-centres, where their health is being put at significant risk.
Hunt has been right about this all along. Unlike the bungling Johnson, with his confused messaging, u turns and delays. Who would have thought Jeremy Hunt would shine like this He's right, massive testing is necessary to be able to get out of this lockdown.
We all do. But practicalities and availability will decide when it's done. Which indeed seems to be happening. So will it now be called a U turn?
Sensible xxx I do not want to shorten quarantine though x
Jeremy_Hunt cut the NHS berated doctors objecting to his cuts doesn't care about the dead only getting back to low paid jobs
GO EAST, and there will be a NEW DAWN as Boris promised.
BJ could sod off till next January, for all that I care :)
For once jeremy_hunt is correct. Mass testing was the correct course of action. But it was not implemented and the window has been missed for now, until the current peak is reached.
Jeremy Hunt is a snake-he spent as much time and effort as anyone trying to destroy the NHS
Too late
so the goal is for the global population and every global possible surface contamination to be simultaneously free of coronavirus or risk the ever continuation of this pandemic without a proven vaccine and assuming that people can establish or build an effective immune system
Mass testing is not enough. We need regular, maybe weekly testing for every resident. Also no one should allowed to enter the country without a current test result
Jeremy Hunt was Secretary of State for Health 2012 - 2018. You can look up his record yourselves.
Two-faced Jeremy C**t, spends his career doing everything possible to hobble and pick apart the NHS now suddenly acts like he's a saviour...
Too bloody late! Useless Conservatives
The longer we are in lock down the safer we are. The death rate will tell us when to start relaxing rules. Until then, we have to stay indoors. Test healthcare and keyworkers, make sure we aren't spreading it.
I cannot with this suddenly pious and concerned Jeremy Hunt. Where was this Jeremy Hunt when he was Secretary of State for Health?!
While mass testing should be a given, that won't necessarily shorten the lockdown. Human behavior will. Only if we adhere to social distancing guidelines and slow the spread of the virus could we justify shortening the lockdown. Otherwise we'll just be prolonging the outbreak.
Sounds like he was listening to Tony Blair!
Love how the fascist NYPost whose editor wanted a nat'l emergency declared over drag queen story hour depicts the father here as some kind of fanatical despot
But what if you’re no good at maths? Seems like a weird way of dealing with the problem. Are we allowed to use a calculator?
He's a bit late on this trend, several months late.
I know that name. Hunt. The guy that ran down the NHS for years and years. A message for Hunt ' you evil cun t'
Would that be the Jeremy (sounds like), who's part of the austerity politicians who've decimated the NHS over the last ten years?
The issue with testing is once the test is taken it is only an indicator that up to that time the person is not infected. 30 mins after the test you could still become infected but have a negative screening as the test was done before. It’s difficult. coronavirus COVID19
RT : UK coronavirus live: Jeremy Hunt calls for mass testing to shorten lockdown
Is that the same jeremy Hunt whondug his heels in against better conditions for junior doctors not long ago.....I bet he was another Tory hypocrite clapping at the door.
I think we should let the christians at least go to church and pray, and hug, and hold hands.
