Sir Iain Duncan Smith and Damian Green among backbenchers calling for change, saying it is essential for the economy

Asked if he believed the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies got it wrong about lockdown timings, Prof Mark Woolhouse, of Edinburgh University, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “No, I don’t. I’m not on Sage, so I can’t speak for the processes that led to that advice. “The timing of an intervention for an epidemic like this is extremely complicated.

Spreading the idea 'Economy versus health' is wrong: if people get sick again, they won't be able to get back to work! And if they finally heal(which we hope!) they will fell exhausted for months and unable to work full time.

I’d personally like to keep at least 2 metres away from others thanks. However I do understand the desperate state our economy is in now, so if certain businesses need less than 2m to operate then let them, and we can decide to use their services or not.

I'd suggest that anything the reprehensible 'Sir' Iain Duncan Smith suggests or calls for should be roundly ignored. Even in the ranks of Tories he is utterly shameful.

And all those stickers just laid in our High Street will be redundant and most of the shops haven't even opened again yet

As organisations explore ways of reopening, like we do in construction, we advocate a risk assessed approach seeking appropriate measures for the setting rather than universally applying one rule, such as the UK's current 2m rule

Will the virus respect the change in distance it is allowed to travel?

A 1,5m distance or enough for not to reach with extended arm would be enough.
