Uefa has lifted the ban on showing games starting at 15:00 on a Saturday live on TV in England and Scotland.
The move comes after requests from the Football Association and the Scottish Football Association amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It is seen as the first move towards restarting some domestic competitions in the UK behind closed doors. In a statement, Uefa said:"Uefa has lifted the 'blocked hours' protection granted to England and Scotland for the remainder of the 2019-20 season following requests from the relevant national associations as a result of measures taken in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic."
Hopefully for good. All games Free on the BBC red button. Fingers crossed
🤣🤣🤣 Journos at there best
Games behind closed doors so. This will let people watch it at home.
Shocking, how are the players supposed to social distance themselves from each other, it's not called a contact sport for no reason.. stupid decision's like these have to be money orientated.
Theres no games being played? so lifting the ban is pretty much pointless
Who's playing?
Shame it does t apply to Belarus - they’ve got games on today :
Would hope after this people realised the value of putting a ball over a line versus being a keyworker. Something tells me society will still be just as idiotic.
That's a photo of an NFL pitch 🙄
Is it to get games played to finish the season or is it something they are doing to be able to get their hands on money
Gives us a pretty good idea of how they intend to finish the season then. They wouldn't have lifted this if they didn't have something planned
Timing is rubbish but thanks. Secondly why you showing a picture of a Rugby pitch.....🤣😂👍😂👍😂
And just how are people meant to play football whilst keeping 2 meters apartisn't that gonna affect tackling a wee bit🤔
Football's one thing I haven't missed, nice to to be without it.
How about reading the article before commenting 🤷🏼♂️ Starts the process for playing games behind closed doors.
How do you tackle with a 2 mtr space between players. Does it also mean players won't be able to crowd the penalty area, for cross or corner. Non contact football. A new game?
'It is seen as the first move towards restarting some domestic competitions in the UK behind closed doors.' A quite a number of things need to happen before playing football is seen as essential.
Interesting. Games behind closed doors on the horizon I suspect....
That’s a topical decision - sounds like a Trump decision made when nobody’s looking. Not like UEFA 😉
DId they have a VAR check before making it.
Players being prepared for June 1st start behind closed doors. All will be tested.
Jeezo, another great non-story with an irrelevant picture👍
The BBC's in need of a blackout!
About time! Shame it took a pandemic to do this though.....canr wait to see my team play at 3pm today, oh wait.....😂
Why now? There's no fucking football on.
Oh great. Can't wait for 3pm. Oh wait...........No bloody football! DOH!
TIME UEFA England spfl realised there is more important things to deal with than 22 men running around a playing field for 90 minutes. People are dying in numbers daily. Scrap the season
A bit like saying FIFA will allow football to be played on the moon, anytime
Great. Just in time for today’s 15:00 kick offs.
And you have a picture of a pitch set up to play an NFL game 🙄
Thought we had left them
Shame there's no games
Um. This seems, irrelevant?
