Two more Nightingale hospitals to open in Bristol and Harrogate for coronavirus patients, NHS says

NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens said they would add to"surge capacity".

The military helped to set up London's Nightingale hospital, which has 500 beds in place with space for another 3,500. NHS England said it had already freed up more than 33,000 beds around the country, the equivalent of 50 new hospitals.

Is the NHS a registered charity? I thought it was funded from taxation.

Why on earth Harrogate. Why not Birmingham?

This is the Tories ww2 moment as Churchill found out when the next election comes around even the stupid people that voted for them last time, well surely they can't be stupid twice

LauraTrantTV Can there not be a gathering of 50 people for these ones to open, just open it.

Field hospitals not hospitals.

Why can’t people just celebrate and applaud this achievement? Why did the BBC end its news broadcast item with “there are questions about how it will cope, whether it’ll get the equipment needed” etc? FFS, the UK needs hope, not doom and gloom reporting

Where are they going to get the staff from to work in these hospitals

when I was a kid in Manchester hospitals used to be divided into 'fever' or 'surgical' so their was no cross contamination seems we need to go back to that concept

Need one in Sheffield. A significant cluster of cases there.

Will Matt Handcock bring his coronavirus along to open those hospitals and meet the staff as well? If only he had followed the WHO 14 day self isolate advice!

Amazing how we can rush build, stock and somehow staff all these places when already built hospitals are lacking in every department...

Two cruise ships agree to leave Australian waters as police raise hopes of resolving standoffAustralian Border Force says progress is being made getting eight ships moving out of NSW waters amid coronavirus crisis Those taking cruises at this time must be several screws short of a meccano set. The head of Australian Border Force, Michael Outram might be good at his domestic job, but obviously has no clew about anything else.
