Twitter for the first time took action against a series of tweets by Donald Trump, labeling them with a warning sign and providing a link to further information.
bluredfrank Does this mean that a computer program/algorithm labelled information provided by 'the most powerful person in the world' as false?
Truth is something argued, not necessarily fact, Twitter!
It's about bloody time. People don't want to be educated though. That's the sadest part.
About time!
It's all good if they include the same warning with the news outlets and other political operatives..
realDonaldTrump Oh my, iddy biddy Donnie got caught telling booboos.
Twitter should also be responsible for some of the 100k dead people in America. They should act against this shameless orange a few months ago.
It’s about time.
About time.
Two strikes and he’s.. re-elected. How can we stop all this ? - I’m down to only one solution - and the bleach part of that only comes in afterwards to clean up the scene.
Improved Twitter ,after all. Bt its policy nt 2label tweets by Political Leaders that violate twtr rules is Incongruent with the 1 on Civic Integrity. Falsehood in PL's twts ultimately violates CI n sd nt b spared frm labelling with a warning sign Trump, Erdogan or Modi ...
This article starts strong then declines to the point of insinuating that (lol) the Daily Mail is partly to blame for Corona Virus. 😂 Will this be fact checked?
Using CNN a source of truth😂
Must be hundreds of warnings then?
All smart people know whatever the mainstream media says it’s the exact opposite. It’s not like social media sways people one way or the other on their political stance.
Intriguing:
As long as they treat the libtards the same way.
Good. All the dog's twitters should be flagged. Since they are Untrue all. Should be flagged as DUMB IN CHIEF - DOG
Good Job too
Twitter needs to legally operate as a publisher at this point.
Twitter didn’t put a “warning” on this guardian article so I guess it‘s officially endorsed and sanctioned by the self appointed gatekeepers of conversation.
'... Trump’s claims as “unsubstantiated” and false...'
It's about fucking time.
Twitter the almighty sovereign determiner of “substantiated” and “unsubstantiated”
Bullspit. There’s one ‘warning’ on one tweet about ‘getting the facts on voter fraud.’ Nothing on the two that are still up accusing Joe Scarborough of murder.
FifeFreePressEd Will Twitter be addressing his false claims about his hair as well?
No more of this then!
So is Twitter going to start censoring & fact-checking all the numerous blue check mark 'journalists' & leftwing activists who falsely claimed that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government & that the elected president is a 'puppet' of Putin for the past 4 years?
Good - it's time to do this with all leaders internationally. I'm sick of seeing patently false statements from leaders & propagandists or reports from 'embedded' journalists be passed off as fact without comment - Snopes-style ratings would be a very good idea.
When is Twitter doing it on CNN et al? Ah....thought not.
It's fine Twitter...his comments are taken as lies unless proved otherwise...still waiting for that to happen... fatchumptrump
DailyCaller I hear Walter Estrada's voice coming from the neighbors home!! How does that happen!?
And hopefully not last. There is no reason why Twitter should allow downright scaremongering lies and facilitate a President trying to lie his way to the second term. A disclaimer is the least they can do.
Finally! Too little too late! RemoveTrumpFromTwitter
Except they weren't false. About 8 minutes after twitter made fools of themselves (again) Trump was vindicated. You can ignore it, but it won't go away.
How the fuck has that taken 4 years?
You have to go directly to his page to actually see the warnings, meaning any retweets don’t have it. Truly useless. A bandaid.
