Users in every continent reported said they had been unable to log in, while monitoring services detected tens of thousands of outages.

Twitter has reportedly experienced a wave of widespread outages across the UK and worldwide blocking users from the social network.

On Friday evening Twitter’s support team posted: ‘Tweets may not be loading for some of you. We’re working on fixing a problem and you’ll be back on the timeline soon.’currently reads ‘All Systems Operational’, but Metro.co.uk still could not access the social network at the time of publication.AdvertisementUsers who managed to post on the site reported problems ranging from being unable to tweet to being unable to log-in.

Metro.co.uk was able to access the service later on Saturday but reports continued to spike on Downdetector.
